About Us

Welcome to Editors of USC!

This is a group devoted to undergraduate and graduate editors at the University of Southern California’s School of Cinematic Arts. This group works to get Editors in the school talking about boring things like workflow and exciting things like Avid conferences that serve alcohol.

We also hope to get together as a group every once in a while to get to know our fellow craftspeople. There aren’t many of us in the school, but there are certainly more than we think!

This website will serve two functions: As a directory of editing students past and present and also as a blog of what is going on in our school and industry.

We know you have a lot of render/export time. That’s a great time to write about:

  •  Jobs that you can’t take and you’d like to recommend someone!
  •  A new Avid/Final Cut trick you learned.
  •  Any events that you are attending and would like others to know about.
  •  Reviews of 3rd party products or helpful websites.
  •  Classes at SC that relate to editing and any tips/tricks for that.
  •  Advice about the world after graduating (Unions, freelancing, etc).
  •  Student only advice, like where to sleep on campus or the daily life of a 546 editor.

Follow us on TWITTER to see when updates have been made so you don’t have to come back all the time to check!

Here goes nothing!,
